I get a fair number of "internet petitions" which I normally ignore because I doubt their effectiveness. I poked around a little this morning, looking for some justification for my dount, and wa-la, I found some excellent resources from Phil Agre who runs the Red Rock News Service that I have a permanent link to off to the right.
The first article is called Designing Effective Action Alerts for the Internet and the second is Against Chain Letter Petitions on the Internet.
It also looks like there's lots of other goodies on Agre's Homepage. Enjoy.
