$147,000 is really a lot to pay to keep a senator from visiting a local church, or better yet, phoning his local spirtiual leader of choice from back in his home district.

This is an offical .gov site. This is a democracy. What's with that sovereign lord theobabble. Hop in your time machine and go back to medieval Europe if you want your sovereign lords. Give them a biblical spanking when you find them. More:

Chaplain Ogilvie teaches several Bible study groups each week. He leads the Senators' Bible Study every Thursday at noon and the Senate Spouse Study which meets regularly on Tuesdays at 1:15 p.m. His Senate Staff Lunch and Bible Study Groups meet at 12:00 noon on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Senate Couples' Bible Study Group meets periodically throughout the year.
