I'm not buying any chicken from Fieldale Farms Corporation because they paid Georgia representative Nathan Deal $4000 so they can claim their chicken is organic when it is not fed organic feed.
Fieldale Farms was fined $7000 recently for failing to guard their conveyor line. What sort of farm is it that needs a conveyor line ? Maybe they should rename the corporation to "Fieldale Factory Farms Corporation".
Fieldale has a private label which shields them from an appropriate market backlash for their shennanigans. As a result, you may end up buying Fieldale even if you're trying to avoid them. Better to not buy chicken at all, or better yet support groups like Wholesome Harvest who are trying to exceed, not undermine, organic standards. It looks like they're working on a CSA service...

I'm getting a sever case of cabin fever after about four days of getting stuck in my apartment. Almost everything was shutdown Sunday and Monday. Movie theatres, supermarkets, the works. People have been driving around, and I have no clue where they were going. A lot of the people on the road where 4 wheel drives that I suspect where just proving to themselves that they could drive in the snow.
I called the weather hotline before going into work today, and the message was pretty much begging people to stay at home:
It said only one lane of route 28 through Herndon was plowed, secondary roads were trecherous, and apparently the parking lots weren't cleared of the two feet of snow that fell out there.
Arlington at least seems to be digging itself out pretty well. The pavement is visible on most of the main roads, and people have been surprisingly good about shoveling their walks, (or snowblowing them which is more likely the case).
I even saw a chipper little Insight on Fairfax Drive today driven by someone much less cautious than I.
