I have a new byline in memorial of Dijkstra's death. It's from Truths that hurt, an essay I've quoted from before.

Project TIPS actually a front for America's Most Wanted.
What is this, The Running Man ? Richard Dawson, please step out from behind the curtain now....
But on the other hand, maybe AMW can help the FBI find all those missing guns and computers....

A sad day here in Pwanville. The car's running low on gas, so I'm going to have to fill it up today. Looks like I'm going to get around 450 miles for the first tank. Eventually I'll put up some page with all sorts of geeky charts to track this sort of stuff.
I caught myself speeding yesterday. Turns out I was paying more attention to the real time gas mileage indicator than the speedometer. The car was actually going over 70 mph, but I was getting just under 60 mpg at the same time. Luckily the radar gun officers on the toll road didn't pull me over. My explaination wouldn't have gone over very well. I let myself off with a warning instead.

I'm sure I posted something regarding this over a year ago, but the Justice department still can't keep track of it's guns and computers:
In addition, at least 18 of nearly 1,000 missing firearms cited in the report were later recovered by local police departments in connection with criminal investigations, including several used in armed robberies and another found in the pocket of a murder victim, according to the findings.
In other shoddy accounting news, the Willed Body Program is recalling body parts it's shipped across the country. Seems they weren't adaquetly tested for disease.

No longer content to just trash the environment, an SUV decided to take on history as well by smashing through a wall of the oldest house in Hartford.

Sterling's O'Reilly Open Source Speech is a doozie. There's some fine, fine "Jesus and the moneylenders" verbage at the beginning, but eventually things gets pretty whacky after he introduces Linux Girl.
... She's got children like... Red Flag Linux.
This Chinese kid, in a little Mao suit. "Thank you for the free software, Mother! We will destroy the running dogs of Wall Street now!"
"No problem, Red Flag, they're doin' it to themselves! He's such a polite and disciplined little boy, my Red Flag Linux!"
