Has "I'm going to get medieval on your ass" has been replaced with "I'm going to give ye a biblical spanking" ?
After all a biblical spanking delights responsible parents and biblical spanking brings security.
Security !! Who doesn't want security nowadays ? Maybe the Homeland Security folks should start pulling aside passengers for random spankage. The good citizen will display a tender repentant cry, and screaming, yelling, or outward displays of anger would be evidence of noncompliance.
So spank away. Spank, spank spank. Lovely spank. Spank spank spankity spank.
Wait wait, that's all wrong. What came over me ? Go to Project NoSpank instead.

There's something just plain wrong about the Emma Goldman online store.
I suppose its just me, but Young Emma has an uncanny resemblance to one of my more favorite readers.

Arthur Anderson has been fined a whoping $1,000 by Texas for it's role in the Enron debacle. What's that, the coffee budget for a day ? Yeh, they lost their license as well, but it's not like any sane corporation would use their services anyway.

Dr Eran Zeidel has been quoted by BBC as saying that
the arrival of the "brand" in the past century has prompted brain evolution.
Yes, In a way I suppose this is correct, much in the same way drinking battery acid or walking off cliffs has prompted brain evolution. The folks who don't stay away from danger don't stick around long enough to pass on their genes.

If I were making my own bible, which who knows, someday I may do, I might pick wealth bondage to replace Proverbs, except it tends to take the whole "bondage" thing a part a literately for my tastes. The best-of seem to be at mygiftcoach.org. Don't miss "Do brands exist ?"

I read Alas, Babylon over the weekend. It's about survivors of a nuclear war in a small town in Florida. It was written in 1958 so there a weird mix of pre-Civil Rights, pre-moon race imagery with all the still-fresh nuclear stuff. Probably not the best thing to be reading a few days after the bombing anniversaries and a few weeks before September 11th.
Here are some 1950's era atomic bomb pamphlets: Atomic Bombing: How to Protect Yourself. From Canada: 11 Steps to Survival, complete with classic ditch protection graphic, as well as a car graphic I never saw before. The stuffed animal in the back seat is a nice touch.
