I'm hurting for a decent byline here, as you can tell.

Anxious spectator that I've been the past few days, it's worth pointing out that terrorism reinforces the state.

Congratulations Jimmy Carter. It's good to remember there's at least one respectable American politican.

Missed the concert because I couldn't find Jammin' Java !

Putz that I am I didn't bring the address with me - not that it would have mattered, since almost none of the buildings on Maple Avenue include an address - I all I remembered was it was near a Safeway. I thought I knew exactly the stripmall where it was, but when I got there, there was a Giant there instead. Eh ? So, it must be that supermarket down the road some, but when I got there, it was a Giant too !! What the.. So I turn around again and I find a Whole Foods, and some little local Margarittaville place, but never any Safeways. Maple Avenue is under construction as well, so I couldn't make any turns I wanted to, so when I wanted to turn around, I got stuck waiting in enormously long traffic lights, wondering where Snipperpuss was then. Eventually I started getting a headache, and I just went home. I'm looking at the map now, and I must have passed the place about four times. Too bad, too sad. I really wanted to see that concert.

So I go to get some burritos for lunch, and at the drive-up they give me the most annoying cup ever. It's so huge and has such a bizarre wonking lid on it, it doesn't fit in the car's cup holder. It almost hit the bottom of the steering wheel as I was holding it between my legs. Plus, the design was so convoluted, I couldn't even figure out how to get the straw in for about a minute. Maybe I really am I moron !

BTW: Sonia Rutstein at Jammin' Java tonight.
She's got a dopey stage name, but her voice and lyrics are great !

Oh well, looks like I'm going to have to turn off my referal-sidebase fun until I can find a way to weed out the spam. Sigh.

If you're the kind of kid who like hybrids, the Christian Science Monitor is carrying a primer for the youngsters today.
No annoying electric train hums with the Insight !

I wonder what the weather's like on planet Ari:

White House press secretary Ari Fleischer said federal authorities were involved in the investigation. He said he had not heard of any evidence the shootings were terror-related.

Hot-diggity-damn: a new Insight record - From Arlington to Sky Meadows State Park and back - 107 miles, with (drum roll, please) 58.7 mpg. It was actually at 58.9 for a couple miles, so I guess that might be construed as the record as well. I almost pulled the car off to the side of the road and started dancing around, but I was too tired from hiking those steep Sky Meadow hills. I am not in as good shape as my car.
