Sniper, No sniping ! Sniper, No sniping ! Sniper, No sniping !
Sorry, this is getting sooo bad movie plot bizarre. How can this guy be giving out telephone and bank account numbers and the police not be able to track him down. OK, the phone number I could see where it could be rigged up so he could dial into some sort of conference call But a bank account number ? Damn, everytime I open an account I've got to jump through so many hoops proving who I am, it's ridiculous. The cops must know who he is by now.
And to shoot a boatload of people and not be able to get through to the police. How annoying has that got to be. The guy should just call Fox news. I'm sure they wouldn't drop the ball. And why aren't the cops recording every call that comes into these tip lines ?

Those hydrogen cell cars, they're right out of the future. But who's thinking about all that DHMO these cars will be spilling out into the atmosphere ?
It's always the quick buck now and consequences later. But before you know it, the stuff will be raining down your family right in your own backyard. Afterwards, huge puddles of it may linger for hours in the gutter. Little kids, your own lovely offspring perhaps, will no doubt splash and jump through these very puddles, vile as they may be, every chance they get . . . just for kicks.
Imagine that, for FUN !!

DC has a Metro blogger map now. It's pretty sweet. Pretty soon I should be listed at the Ballston stop.

Tim-In-The-Box.
I wonder if it says "God Bless Us Everyone" when it pops open. That would make it irresistable.

Oh my, it's been a really long time since I've been excited about going to a concert. I've been reading reviews of it all day. It sounds great, too many spoliers, but great anyway. I'm too excited to link to any of them.
I wonder if I'll be able to make the simple journey from Herndon to GWU without any major screwups.
Probably not, but I've got my fingers crossed. The plan: Drive home, park car, hop on Orange Line, get off at Foggy Bottom. Walk the 4 blocks to the auditorum. Wait around for fourty-five minutes since that's how early I'm probably going to be. No eating before concert - get takeout on the way home. What could possibly go wrong with that plan. No rain tonight either. Good sign ! I even remembered to bring the ticket with me this morning, so I wouldn't even have to go up to the apartment after parking the car.
Off I go !
Update: Back from the concert. Didn't have any trouble getting to Lisner, but I got lost coming back, mainly because I was wandering around GWU trying to digest the performance afterwards, and when I finally started looking around where I was I was out by Watergate !! Egads !! So based solely on the "Wandering Jude" scale, the concert topped the scales. Last time that happened was after my all-day Cisco interview when I just drove around for 15 minutes afterward until I started wondering where I was. But the actually content was sort of depressing. I left with the impression she didn't care much for personal narrative - that she believes people will only tell the parts of stories they want to hear, and they'll tell them over and over again, until eventually any original truth will erode away entirely. Not exactly a theme I wanted to hear my favorite storyteller covering, to say the least ! It's late, I'm going to bed, perhaps I'll post a more comprehensive review tomorrow, but probably not. One of the stories almost made me kick the couple sitting in front of me. I'ld like to write that down before I forget.

Clotaire Rapaille says "If you put a machine gun on top of them, you will sell them better.'"
More on the developing meanness aesthetic. Nan Ellin's architecture of fear is also worth looking into.
I assume everyone knows armed SUVs have been available for a while now. Of course, you could opt for an Urban Assault Vehicle
