A seam ripper would save me tons of time whenever I buy clothes. Now that classes are over for the near future, I'm planning on reviving the old personal unbranding resources subsite. I've had a lot of ideas recently, but the crossreference format was way too difficult to maintain.
(Continuation of accident story - I couldn't even see any marks on the car this morning, but I guess I was so upset afterwards, I left the car window wide open all night ! Seeing that the old Saturn was broken into twice in this garage, it was surprised to see the car was still there at all ! Also, the vanity plates have arrived. Maybe there will be some pictures sometime soon. Won't that be special ?)

Another first tonight - my first accident with the Insight ! For the past six months I've been wondering when some oversized tailgaiting gassnorter's was going to drive over me on the toll road, or if the car will go into toboggan mode in the snow, when I should have been paying more attention to the fools entering the apartment building garage.
Tonight's fool must have lost the little keychain widget you need to wave around to get the garage door to open, so there was a line of cars waiting behind him. There was a car directly behind him, then me, and then a car behind me. Eventually the fool pulled into the garage exit lane to look for his widget, which allowed everyone to move up one car length. The car in front of me waved his widget, and was waiting for the garage door to open. During this time the fool must of found his widget, because he started backing up, but he wasn't backing out straight, and he whacked right my front right bumper. The fool ! I had to sit there and watch him do it, since there was no place for me to go !
There really is no damage, except some scrapes on the bumper, which I guess I should eventully fix, but in all honesty, it's never gonna happen. Way too much of a hassle. Still it would have been nice if I could have kept the car scratch-free for at least the first six months...
Funniest part was after we exchanged insurance info, we went into the whole "Hey is this a hybrid ?" dance, and I did the 'I got 55.5 mpg on today's commute' bit , and the 'yes, It can go over 50 mph, I can keep up with the rest of traffic, I almost hit 80 mph once" bit. Blah, blah, blah. The novelty of peoples's questions is starting to wear off.

"Officials believe that as many as 12,000 people may have died in the great London smog of 1952."
That's a lot of dead people for only five days.

I just finished what should be my final final exam, at least until I decide to get another Masters. Aced it, if I say so myself. Hurray for me. Now I just have to possibly wrestle some administrative people to convince them I have enough credits to actual graduate.

A cousin of a of a friend has been blogging for the last month regarding the upcoming death of his seven-year-old son to faconi anemia.
It's some pretty harsh stuff.

Next week's semon: Virgin birth ? Not unless your a shark !
(Note the use of the most excellent use of the verb 'twig' in the Santa story.)

No special ribbon banners for today. I guess HRD needs better corporate sponsorship. Isn't there an MTV or Levis out there willing to kick in a few bucks ? I guess HR violatees don't make up a significant market share of anything.

The resolution for Uncommon Market to file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy was voted down 44 to 23, failing to get the two-thirds majority it needed to pass. Fred Wood's resolution to continue operation with conditions passed with an ammendment that board vacencies should be filled within 10 days. Six people proposed their names for the five open slots. This will be dealt with at the regular board meeting, which is tomorrow. Minutes should be here eventually.
My gut feeling is that the co-op won't survive. There is too much competition from surrounding stores, and not enough community support. A majority of people at the meeting looked either too young to have a family yet, or old enough that any children they had were most likely grown up and moved on. I doubt a bunch of single people and couples can spend enough to keep the store afloat. And given Arlington's transitory population, chances are committed members are going to move away sometime soon anyway. This is all very sad.
