I hereby dedicate this solstice to Giordano Bruno.

The post with the most:
Rudy Rucker's son's in a standoff regarding an FBI spy virus collecting e-mails mentioning, among other things, anarchy.

You can't get much hucked up than that. Oops. Sorry. I'm wrong. Seems corporations are shipping in their own illegal aliens now.

Ahhhh, if this were a cartoon, a lightbulb would suddenly go on over my head. The idea of ritual resistance seems very feasible.

I also found Bron Taylor's site while looking for other "ritual resistance" references, but I haven't had time to look at it much. Looks promising though.

Great Edsger Dijkstra Quote:

Sometimes we discover unpleasant truths. Whenever we do so, we are in difficulties: suppressing them is scientifically dishonest, so we must tell them, but telling them, however, will fire back on us. If the truths are sufficiently impalatable, our audience is psychically incapable of accepting them and we will be written off as totally unrealistic, hopelessly idealistic, dangerously revolutionary, foolishly gullible or what have you. (Besides that, telling such truths is a sure way of making oneself unpopular in many circles, and, as such, it is an act that, in general, is not without personal risks. Vide Galileo Galilei.....)

Fairfax is looking into force-feeding advertising to students.

As for Coke not being in the classroom...
Check here (weird ...), here (Air Force Acadamy, nice), here, here, here (double whammy in the lesson intro), here, here (really amazing propaganda), here, here (couldn't be more blatant), here (drinking Coke and Pepsi while watching he Simpsons....), here (blind taste tests !) , and finally here (finger section !)

And while not Coke related, here's another outrageous lesson plan covering M&M math.

Obligatory Adbusters link...............here.

And as an aside, my parents might be shocked to learn that while I was in high school, there were rumors of kids doing coke in the back of the classrooms, in religion class no less. I wouldn't be surprised if those rumors were true, seeing our school accepted a lot of druggies that had been kicked out of other local schools. But that was all a long time ago. I'm sure things have all changed by now.
