I'm watching TV last night and I see two commercials which consisted of corporate flunkies begging fogiveness for their shinanigens. One had something to do with shoddy tires, the other with shoddy airline service. Both looked like they were made by the same ad company - some white guy in a suit telling me I should trust him and everything would be better real soon now, and all I had to do was wait. Ba ha ha ha.

Twentry days to go until I start boo-hoo-hooing about why there isn't a mental olympics where people got together every four years and actually try and solve some real world problems.

So with that in mind, I'll post my only olympic related story: It turns out the only olympiad from my hometown was arrested for beating his wife recently.

Doesn't his picture just scream out "I'm at rock bottom, and pulling out the pick axe and shovel."

Keep him in mind the next time some athlete is selling you something.

Find out how much damage a nuclear blast would do if it fell on your house. Thank you, engineers on the Manahattan Project.

Examples of lame error messages turn out to be just as funny as stupid road signs.
Of course, as a techie, I have to crying the same time.
Now I just have to go find some road sign links...

The Digital Freedom Network looks like it's doing a lot of good work, plus they are looking for volunteers to do tech work. Gotta give that some consideration....

I was listening to Think as a Brick last night, and came across this great line I think Bushgore should use in their campaign.
I've come down from the upper class to mend your rotten ways.
My father was a man of power who everyone obeyed.

BTW, Whoever but this lyrics page together had way too much time on his hands....

Extropy isn't dead yet.
Gosh, the last I heard of this was something like two years ago.
I figured all the extropians had dabbled in their smart drugs a little too much and were all veggies in an asylum by now. Guess I was wrong.

You can now buy uranium online.
This doesn't look like it's a joke site, as far as I can tell.
I would have thought trafficing in radioactive materials would be a little more, oh, discrete....

Let's start the week off with some good new:
A Florida TV station was found guilty of violating the state's whistleblower act after it fired the reporter after she refused to slant a story on bovine growth hormone in the direction Monsanto wanted it presented.
Hurray !
