Dishing up hot, steamy guilt for the left-of-center engineer.

My first post from the depths of Cisco. I'm here pretty late tonight because I finally got my laptop setup, and I'm installing all the cygwin / emacs stuff on it.

I had a nice lunch today with the folks from CACI. Everyone looked OK, and they actually said they read this log, so hello to everyone ! Theresa might want to check out a previous employeer of mine who did a lot of work with the Virginia and Maryland DMVs. It was sort of a krazy place when I left it, but that was almost 3 years ago, and I'm sure they are a much more stable by now... let's just say it would be hard for them to have become any more unstable than they were when I'd left them.

Atomic Books is closing. Alas. Will Normals be next... On other notes, I finally got called in for Jury Duty, and I almost got put on a murder trial. I got to tell the judge I didn't believe the state had the right to put anyone to death, but I don't know if that got me excused from the trial or not. I think the funniest part of it was that I actually uttered the phrase "the state" to someone outside the usual suspects. Work progresses as well. I am doing a lot more lab work than I thought I'd be, and I'm getting a little lonsome to sling some serious code, but I'm willing to wait a while, at least until after the upcoming deadline. Two more people started on the project, so I'm not the low guy on the totem pole any more, which is nice.
