Debster sent me an e-mail about the Veterens For Peace's Iraq Water Project. Seems like a worthwhile left-of-center engineering project, which means for once there's a post that actually sticks by this sites byline. Yippee !! Surprisingly, the VFP don't seem to have their own web site...

Whoever is running the PETA Murder King campaign is really good at what they do. I was culture jammed by them a couple weeks ago, and then who started telling me about the horrors of factory farming and Burger King tonight but my own dear mother. She asked me to send her one of their vegetarian starter kits. Egads.

(The culture jamming took the form of a rather grissly piece of junk mail. Beware if you are squeamish - the link above has some of the pictures I'm talking about buried in it somewhere.)
