Dishing up hot, steamy guilt for the left-of-center engineer.

Back when I was a kid, Saturday mornings were reserved for horror films instead of toy commercials. Most of these movies were campy black and white movies from the 50's, but one of them scared me badly enough that while I'd forgotten the name, I've remembered a number of scenes for over twenty years.

So for over the past 20 years or so I've been on a low-level quest to rediscover this movie.

Well, alas all good quests must come to an end - this week I finally saw it again on the American Movie Classics channel. It's called Equinox and it is probably the worst horror movie I've ever seen. The link above gives a fairly accurate review of how truely terrible a film it is. I feel like my memory has cheated me. Sigh.

If I had a real weblog, it would be something like this. It's even got my favorite weblog subgenre featured this month - people changing jobs.

Check out the Open Source Systems for Libraries portal. It's pretty nice to have lisnews and the usual geeky suspects on the same page.

I don't think anyone who lives in the Washington D.C. area will be surprised to find out that the AAA is pretty active in politics. It seems like everytime there's a meeting about increasing Metro service there's an interview with some AAA representitive saying the funds would be better spent on building more roads. Shame AAA, shame, shame...

Cisco is launching the ONS15327 today with an event hosted by Denise Miller. See what I've been working on the past couple months. Denise Miller probably knows about as much about optical transport as he knows about football, so it might be interesting...

"Prevent mass execution of Vitamins and killing of Flavor"..... If there's one thing I can't stand, it's militant vegetarianism.

AddALL seems to be a pretty good search engine for out of print books. I was able to find a couple versions of my favorite edition of Walden for sale. Hurray. I think I'm going to get two copies - an expensive, "never really read it" version and one I can take out on the trail. As for my current copy, it'll probably just collapse into a pile of dust after a couple months...

Wow, here's a link that actually has something to do with the web log's byline: A site about a long term civil engineering project to provide safe drinking water to Iraqis suffering under the sanctions.
