I found the spin on the recent breast-feeding studies interesting.

Wouldn't it be more honest to say that the recent (in evolutionary terms) move away from breast-feeding towards formula may cause obesity, rather than saying that the approach developed by evolution over the past couple million years may prevent obesity ?

Sort of like saying that breathing clean air may prevent cancer instead of saying that smoking causes cancer, don't you think ? Perhaps is Nestle and friends were sold breast milk the story would be different.

Coming soon to a school district near you: religious right attacks against ecology. Sounds like a good enough reason as any for the Greens to start entering school board elections. Gotta start somewhere, guys...

... citizens have no choice but to pay a private organization to get a copy of a law they're required to obey.

I found a bumper car pavilion less than 20 minutes from my house. Of course, it's a a broken down mess now, but someday with volunteer help, it will come alive (alive I say) again someday, and then we will have self-improvement through bumper cars once more !

Hmmm, let's say one of your jobs was to enforce the separation between church and state. Would you start off every day with a prayer meeting ? I would think not....

I wonder how many good people are looking for work elsewhere because of the oppressive religious atmosphere such "optional" meetings must put over the work environment ?
