01/11/2004 Entry: "Project Vote-Smart"

I listened to a talk given Richard Kimbell, the president of Project Vote Smart today. He said it is becoming increasingly difficult to get candidates to voice their positions, because the candidates are afraid their opponents will use the information in attack ads.

Kimbell also said Dean was one of the few presidental candidates who won't fill out their NPAT position questionnaire. That may be enought to push me towards Kucinich, who oddly enough has Richard Stallman's endoresment. I don't know which is odder, that Stallman is making endorsements or that candidates are accepting them.

Apparently you can take to take their questionnaire, and it will match you to the candidate most similar to your views. It doesn't seem to be working for me tonight.

Virginians, tomorrow, Monday the 12th is the deadline to register to vote to participate in the Virginia primary on Februrary 10th. And remember in Virginia, everyone gets to vote in primaries, not just the Democrats.
