Sure the lawyers tell him there are no prohibitions against robots making life-or-death decisions but can a bot cause pain equivalent in intensity to the pain accompanying serious physical injury, such as organ failure, impairment of bodily function, or even death. Indeed, can there be torturebots ? Are there already torturebots ?

The Herndon robotics bot ships next Tuesday. Then perhaps I'll start posting on a regular basis again...
