Lagos authorities have begun requiring psychiatric tests of traffic offenders blamed for the city's "insane" gridlock.
Just for record political psychiatry is nasty, but still anger management classes for road rage doesn't seem such a horrible idea.

The "footprint" mentioned in the letter is actually a rather nice well-used local bike trail. Here's a thought - why not get some of those inner beltway petrolholics out of their cars and onto the bike path.

Suffolk Executive Robert Gaffney has vetoed a proposed county ban on SUV purchases that 14 members of the 18 member bipartisan legislature approved.
Suffolksters, hop to it, and override that veto ! Meanwhile, I will vent my disgust in the form of ridiculous post titles.

"The school, two-year-old Oakdale Elementary in Frederick County, is getting used to receiving large corporate checks. Last year, it won $10,000 for performing the best interpretation of Oscar Mayer's well-known wiener song. This year it won another $10,000 from Oscar Mayer for singing its bologna song and two other melodies, written by music teacher Lori Bower, praising Oscar Mayer Lunchables, complete with children dressed up as dancing pieces of bologna, ham and cheese."
I'm sure Edoardo Raspelli will be thrilled to learn Philip Morris is making bologna. Bah !! Oscar Myer is typical American slaughterhouse byproduct baloney. Remember that next time you're sewing up your kid's costume.
And what's this ? Some school in Arkanasas got $25,000 for their wonderful weinersong. How can that be if Oakdale is the best ?
