Sigh... There's been another counterproductive arson fire in California.
I wonder how many of the ELF actions are actually done by people with a political agenda. Spraypainting a couple slogans at the site and letting ELF claim responsibility seems a pretty good way to get back at someone you have a beef with. It would seem "finding individuals willing to give you credit" is more important than "finding like minded individuals" to leaderless resistence.
Regardless of the true motives for the arson, the cost of these attacks is still going to get pushed onto me in the form of higher insurance costs.
(BTW: The 'media phychologist' Stuart Fischoff, mentioned in the that arson article seems really qualified to comment on terrorist funding trends...)

Virigina is threatening restrict hybrid vehicles from the HOV lanes unless drivers pony up same number of passengers as their combustable cousins. It's unspecified if the current administration will allow fetuses and back pocket Hersey bars to be counted as additional passengers...
Wouldn't it be better to HOV traffic to vehicles that were carrying at least half their advertised capacity ? A nine-passenger SUV isn't very high on occupancy if it's only carrying two people.

Sigh... The Post considers it news that people in cities can get along without cars. How very sad.
New Yorkers plan work and play around their inability to drive. They vacation on Fire Island, because no cars are allowed. They tend to travel east to London, Paris or any other European city with a good subway system instead of heading west, say, to Utah or Wyoming or Nevada, all of which have long highways and no Yellow Taxis.
