"Every now and then, I'll get somebody calling me a warmonger, start cussing at me, calling me a warmonger, or wrecker of the environment," Applegate said.

ROAR!, the National Dance and Music Rights Alliance, is going to be fighting for it's right to party most of the day today. They are dancing against the misuse of drug laws.
Is the management of protests by concert promoters the next big thing ? Will Ticketmaster be working the next big march ?

The Arlington County Community Alert System has been updated to warning citizens of traffic problems, mischievous activity, heavy weather and now exploited Microsoft design flaws:
With all the recent worms and viruses, Arlington County's Chief
Information Security Officer (CISO) will alert you about new computer viruses and
worms before you open your email. The CISO will provide information on where
to learn more about preventative and counter-measures. (via e-mail sent to current participants. I couldn't find the notice online yet)

It comes as no surprise that ad rules have been relaxed for NFL bash
This is different from advertising; these are sponsor recognition. . . .
Yeh right, well in that case....Of course, anyone who's visited the Mall during the current administration shouldn't really be phased by this. There have been huge banners for the History Channel and the Discovery Channel along the entrances of various Smithsonian buildings for the past couple years now. Something like this scope was unevitable. I'm surprised there are any ad rules still in effect at all.
The only good that can come of this here bash would be if Britney Spears and Aretha Franklin get it on during the halftime show. Traffic is going to be dreadful tonight.

Local readers, the time is ripe to stock up on some local pears. There's an excellent source at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Quincy Street, right across from Washington Lee High School. There's a neglected pear tree there who's fruit is dropping all over the sidewalk leading to a peardestrian hazard of pearposterous pearportions.
If you don't slide to your death on the sidewalks's lawsuit-inspriring coating of slippery pear mush, and you manage to avoid all the bees chowing down on said mush, you should be able to make off with some nice Bartlett pears, if they haven't all fallen off the tree by the time you get there.
Based on the sorry state of the sidewalk, I really don't think the owner of the tree's going to miss the pears much.
