At the project without a name, we think you
should have as much control over your personal information as possibile.
To that end, we've published a privacy policy to let users know what personal
information we are collecting, and what we are doing with it.
The project without a name also urges it's visitors
to be very wary of all marketing on the Internet and to do as much as possible
to protect their privacy against all violations of privacy. The project without
a name hopes visitors will visit the
Junkbusters site, and implement as many of the safeguards that are described
there as possibile.
NOTICE
The project without a name will track the
domains from which people visit this site and analyze this data for trends
and statistics. This data will be used to fine tune the content of the site
to the arriving audience. This information will not be used for marketing
purposes, since frankly, there is nothing for sale at this site !
Do be aware though, that this site may contain links
to third party sites which do collect data for marketing purposes, and which
will violate your privacy rights. For this reason, the project without a
name highly recommends installing a personal web proxy, such as
Muffin, in order to protect your privacy as much as possible.
WEB-HOSTING STATUS
The project without a name is currently
being hosted at Earthlink, and users
personal information may be traced by this company, dispite what their marketing
people may be telling you on TV. If such monitoring is occuring, it is happening
without the help of the project without a name. If the project without a
name learns that it's hosting company is collecting vistor information and
using it in a manner that violates this privacy policy, the project without
a name will move to a web-hosting company which will honor this policy, in
a timely manner, if such a company can be found.
E-MAIL MESSAGES
As a matter of course, users may send
e-mail messages to the project without a name. The project without a name
will not sell the list of e-mails it receives. The project without a name
will also not send unsolicated e-mail to the addresses it may receives.
The project without a name will also not purchase lists of e-mail addresses
for any purpose.
The project without a name may keep copies of
e-mail messages sent to it for future reference, but the project without a
name does not claim ownership of any messages sent to it. The project without
a name will not publish user e-mails without the consent of the user. Unless
required by law, a users e-mail will not be forwarded or otherwise released
without their knowledge.
COOKIES
The project without a name will not
use cookies. The project without a name highly suggests the users configure
their browsers to reject cookies from all sites, and to not visit sites which
require the use of cookies.
SECURITY
The project without a name will not
keep user messages on a machine accessable from the Internet.
User messges will not be stored on machines running any operating system
built by Microsft.
ENFORCEMENT
In the event that the project without
a name becomes aware of a security breech at the site, the projecy without
a name shall take reasonable measures which it deems appropriate, including
but not limited to internal investigation and reporting, and notification
to and cooperation with law enforcement authorities.
If the project without a name beomes aware
that a user's personal information provided to the project without a name
has been disclosed in a manner not permitted by this Privacy Policy, the project
without a name shall make reasonable efforts to notify the affected user,
as soon as reasonably possible and as permitted by law, of what information
has been disclosed, to the extent that the project without a name knows this
information.
UPDATES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
To update the privacy policy,
we will both post the changed version and its effective date at http://www.pwan.org/privacy.html.
When updates to this privacy policy are made, notices about upcoming changes
will be made on the www.pwan.org front page and any logs maintained on the
site at least 2 weeks in advance.
