The pwan's personal unbranding method
Laundering With Scissors

Problem

You've removed all the nasty labels from your clothing, but alas, eventually you buy new stuff, or the seasons change, and suddenly you find labels and logos creaping back into your wardrobe.

Context

The is one of the Maintenance Methods, designed to keep down the post-purchase advertising once the initial push to clean up your space is over.

Forces

There are no related methods yet.

Solution

Keep a pair of scissors near your laundry area, or take a pair with you to the laundrimat, or to the laundry room in your apartment building. As you put the clothes into the washer, check for removable logos, and cut them off if you find any. Do the same as you move the clothes from the washer to the drying rack or clothes line (or if you're into massive energy waste and loud noise, the dryer). Finally do a third check as you're folding the clothes after they're dry.

Tools Used

Why, scissors, of course.

Skills Needed

A keen eye for logos, and a quick trigger finger for your trusty cutting tool. Snip, snip, snip.

Payback

Big payback. It's easy to do, since you're already paying attention to the clothes while you're washing them, and the extra couple seconds of snippage aren't very invasive.
