Today’s bit of advice: no gardening at night.

Amy and I got home from a day at the zoo around dusk, and I thought I’d have enough time to plant some bushes I’d bought the previous day.  It was pretty dark out when Amy came out and said all the phones in the house had gone dead in mid-call..   I went and poked around on line for a little bit to see if there were any outages reported.  None were, so I opened a ticket with Verizon.  Then we had dinner, watched some shows online went to bed, and the phone was still dead in the morning.

Then I went out in the garden again and noticed I had cut through the phone cable during my night gardening.  In two places.  There was a good five inch bit of cable waiting for me out by our new hydrangea.   Goes to show you how much time I’ve put into the back garden that it took me over five years to figure out the phone cables ran through the middle of it.  Oh well.  I wonder how much this is going to end up costing me.  Probably a lot.   At least the guys at Verizon should get a chuckle out of my updated ticket.
